Monosof™ sutures are used in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

They cause a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, followed by a gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue.

Resistance period: Like any polyamide suture, the progressive hydrolysis of the suture in vivo can produce a gradual loss of tensile strength over time.
